Normandy Beach is a lovely area of our island with quiet oceanfront beaches and wonderful bayfront areas to moor your boat or enjoy the gorgeous Jersey Shores sunsets. Normandy Beach lays across the boundaries of both Brick Township and Toms River Township and is shared by both municipalities. While you can't tell this when you're in the area, essentially, it means that if you own property in the north end of Normandy Beach you would be receiving services from Brick, but if you own property in the south you would receive services from Toms River. This determines not only where you pay your taxes, but what police department you use, your fire & ambulance services, the school district your children attend, and your trash pickup and snow removal. For more detailed information, check out "Brick Township" and "Toms River Township". Here's an easy way to tell the difference between the Brick section of Normandy Beach and the Toms River section of Normandy Beach... Stand halfway between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. (On the sidewalk! On the sidewalk!) Face North and you are viewing beautiful Normandy/Brick; face South, and you are viewing lovely Normandy/Toms River. |
